Frequently Asked Questions

DO I NEED RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE?

While restaurant experience may be helpful, The Chopped Leaf seeks franchisees that have a drive for success and a willingness to learn and follow our operational manuals. Previous restaurant experience is not required to be able to run a successful Chopped Leaf franchise.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO OPEN A CHOPPED LEAF?

The projected development cost is dependent on multiple variables and can have a wide range of development costs. We typically land between $350,000 – $550,000 for an all-in cost. For a general breakdown of costs, please fill out an application and join us for a Webinar session.

WHY IS THERE A WIDE RANGE OF DEVELOPMENT COSTS?

The range of development cost is due primarily to the varying site conditions and square footage (can range from a 500 square foot space to a 1,800 square foot space full size location, optimum square footage is 1100 – 1500). Many locations available have previously been used as restaurant sites and have necessary infrastructure in place such as plumbing, electrical service, drop ceilings, etc. This existing infrastructure reduces development costs.

WHAT ARE THE FEES INVOLVED?

The initial franchise fee is $30,000 plus applicable taxes, with an ongoing 6% royalty fee & 3% co-operative advertising fund.

WHAT DOES THE FRANCHISE FEE INCLUDE?

The Franchise Fee includes the rights granted by the franchisor to the Franchisee pursuant to the Franchise Agreement. This fee covers the initial term of the Franchise Agreement.
